We have started a big job in the centre of Exeter this week. Work will take about 4 weeks to complete - if the rain stays away ! As always the first few day have been all about the preparation.

- My name is Rob Gardner and I am a Professional Decorator. I have gained 3 NVQ’s in painting and decorating and have been working in this field since 1996. I started my decorating career as soon as I left school. I joined an Exeter based company as a young apprentice in 1996. It was here that I was taught all the skills to become an excellent decorator and the ‘tips of the trade’. I also attended the painting and decorating course at Torquay College, South Devon for 3 years and won the apprentice of the year award in 1999. By mid 2001 I had gathered crucial experience with this firm and had been promoted to a supervisory position. It was at this point that I decided to travel around the world for four months before returning to this country to start my own business. In October 2001 I started my own decorating company. I now have a large customer base within Exeter and the surrounding areas. Much of my work is gained by recommendations and word of mouth. I have full public liability insurance up to £1million. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my wife Julia, two young sons Jake and George and Labrador Flo, playing golf and photography .
