Plus we decorated a house on the edge of Exeter. It had alot of new render and so we sprayed all the wall areas. 120 litres of Dulux paint and a few days later it looked great.

12th -17th April

Once again great weather all week for outside painting. This week we have still been working on a cottage in Exeter. After all the walls had been painted last week we filled, rubbed down, undercoated and glossed all the woodwork. Just to finish off the work we cleaned off all the glass. All work was completed on Saturday, with the owners very happy with the decorating work carried out over the last two weeks.

5th - 11th April

We have been very lucky with the weather this week. We started our first outside work of the year which involves full redecoration of a thatched cottage in Alphington, Exeter.
Work started on Monday with the preparation of the walls, filling and washing any mould with an anti fungal wash. Once this was washed off we applied two coats of weather shield paint to all the wall areas. By Friday all fasics and soffits had had two coats of wood stain applied, walls had been painted twice, all rotten wood had been removed and replaced with new hardwood and we had even started on rubbing down the windows.

On Saturday and Sunday i worked at my friends new house in Lapford, lining the walls and ceilings with a 1400 grade lining paper.

Hoping for a nice sunny week to come !

29th March - 2nd April

Back to The Oxenham Arms Hotel on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and decorate a hotel bedroom. There was alot of cracks within the ceiling and so we used a joint tape and filled over smooth, leaving a nice flat, crack free ceiling. Walls were painted in two different colours from the Fired Earth range. http://www.theoxenhamarms.co.uk/

On Thursday and good Friday we worked on a bedroom with Exminster. This was a very simple job which included filling old holes and cracks, painting the ceiling, coving and walls and undercoating and glossing the wood work white, leaving this high gloss finish below.

Two paper hanging jobs this week which I love to carry out. Job one started on Monday in Heavitree and included removing all the old wallpaper, filling the walls, painting the ceiling white, undercoating and glossed the wood work white and re hanging a patterned finished wall paper to all walls. All work was fully finished by Wednesday afternoon with the new carpets set to be fitted on the Thursday.
Job two was carried out in the centre of Exeter on Thursday and Friday in the large bedroom. It was a designer wallpaper which was very dark in colour and so before hanging the paper we painted two coats of a matching dark coloured paint to the walls just to ensure the best possible finish. The photos below is of this work.

The week ended by having the weekend off to spend with the family !!!"

Working on a large hallway from Monday to Friday in Alphington, Exeter. A straight forward job which included full preparation of all areas, painting the ceilings white and painting all the wall areas in Dulux soft stone which looked really nice with the high white gloss wood work and doors. The only small problem we had was an old stain on the ceiling - this had two coats of a stain block paint applied before the ceiling had its final coat.
Saturday and Sunday was work again ! This time in a lovely hotel in the Dartmoor village of South Zeal. The Oxenham arms. Again we had to work to a time limit. This work including painting a large T & G ceiling in eggshell and wall areas in a hotel guest house, plus re painting a kitchen area. A hard week this week and looking forward to a day off some time soon."

"We had three different jobs to complete this week. Monday and Tuesday was spent on Dartmoor. Our job was to fully decorate the main bedroom which included painting the ceiling white, walls in Buttermilk and undercoating and glossing the woodwork white.
Job Two was carried out on Wednesday and Thursday In Exmouth and again was a fully redecoration of a bedroom plus the customer had two new doors fitted a few days ago so they were primed and two coats of white satin wood applied.
Job Three was much bigger and was carried out on Friday, Saturday and Sunday in the centre of Exeter. It was for a company which has moved offices however needed the old office block redecorated before they could re-let it. We had a small amount of time to do a lot of work but did meet the hand over time of Monday morning. Overall a very busy week."

We had two different jobs to carry out this week. We started on Monday morning in Wonford, Exeter. The job was to redecorate a living room which included painting the ceiling white and all the wall areas. One wall had a cool purple colour applied and all the remaining walls cream. All floor areas were wooden and so we used a hard floor protector from Packexe Ltd to cover it.
The second job was in Pinhoe, Exeter. The customers had already removed the old wallpaper from the bedroom and we were tasked with preparing all the walls and woodwork, painting the ceiling, lining the walls with a 1400 grade lining paper, undercoating and glossing all the wood work. The customer wanted to paint the walls themselves. A nice easy job which went well.
